Rockland County Lawyer Says 'Too Late' To Challenge Livsey

ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. – John Sarcone, an attorney for Highlands Supervisor Mervin “Bob” Livsey, said that the time is long past to challenge Livsey’s earlier election as an Orange County supervisor or to question past tax exemptions, lohud reported.

Livsey served for four years as a supervisor in Orange County despite having his primary residence in Rockland County. Sarcone said that if someone had challenged Livsey’s election when he ran for office, that person may have won, but not now.

During those years, Livsey also earned tax exemptions and STAR rebates for a home that was not, as the tax regulations required, his primary residence.

Livsey maintains that he had cleared these exemptions with tax assessors in both towns where he had homes, and that they said there was nothing wrong with his receiving the tax relief, according to lohud.
